Liverpool News£150m deal, transfer timeline set – Alexander Isak to Liverpool decision reached…

£150m agreement, transfer schedule established – Decision made on Alexander Isak’s move to Liverpool.

Liverpool remains in discussions regarding a potential transfer for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak during the summer transfer window.

Alexander Isak is eager to leave Newcastle United and join Liverpool before the summer transfer period concludes.

Isak, 25, did not participate in Newcastle’s Premier League opener against Aston Villa and issued a shocking statement about his future on Tuesday. The Swedish international stated that “broken promises” have resulted in his exclusion from Eddie Howe’s squad, asserting that “the relationship cannot continue.”

He is convinced that he has played his last match for the Magpies and is resolute in his desire to secure a transfer to Arne Slot’s Liverpool before the transfer window shuts on Monday, September 1.

In reaction to Isak’s social media announcement, Newcastle responded to the former Borussia Dortmund player, clarifying that “no commitment” has ever been made by any club official regarding his departure this summer.

However, should the Reds persist in their pursuit of Isak or shift their focus to other targets?

While it is clear that Isak would enhance Liverpool’s attacking options, I believe the Reds should consider alternative players. In my opinion, the reported £150m that Newcastle is asking could be better utilized on three players to further strengthen Slot’s squad.

I feel that Liverpool still needs one more centre-back, with Marc Guehi being the ideal candidate for a £40m transfer from Crystal Palace. Additionally, Liverpool appears to be lacking on the left flank after losing Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich – targeting Real Madrid’s Rodrygo would be a wise move.

Finally, the No.9 position should also be addressed, and rather than spending a Premier League record fee on Isak, the Reds should explore a more budget-friendly option alongside Hugo Ekitike. I genuinely believe that Ollie Watkins would be an excellent addition to Liverpool’s attack this summer.

Isak is an exceptional striker and has a valid argument for being considered the best in the world at this moment. The Swedish player would enhance any team.

However, Hugo Ekitike’s performance at Anfield should provide some food for thought. The Reds typically do not invest in major signings without reason, so why would they do so for Isak?

The necessity for a new centre-back is more pressing, and it’s not as if Isak will leave if Liverpool chooses not to act. Let’s observe how the season unfolds with Ekitike and reassess the situation next summer.
