Liverpool fans spot Mohamed Salah issue during Crystal Palace game that Arne Slot must fix ASAP

Liverpool fans gave their thoughts on social media as Mohamed Salah endured a torrid afternoon during the Reds’ FA Community Shield defeat against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The 2025-26 season’s curtain raiser was a largely entertaining affair with Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike opening the scoring just four minutes in.
Jean-Phillipe Mateta levelled the score with a calm penalty on 17 minutes before the Merseyside outfit regained the lead via a rather fortunate Jeremie Frimpong goal just four minutes after Palace’s equaliser.
However, the Eagles drew level once more on 77 minutes through Ismaila Sarr.
Eyes were focused on Florian Wirtz and Ekitike ahead of the game, with both impressing to the delight of their new supporters.
The match finished 2-2 before Crystal Palace won 3-2 on penalties.

And some Liverpool supporters called out Salah, who was hardly involved and looked off the pace in the Wembley heat.
One fan said: “Frimpong offers something different, but it’s clear that Salah’s output will drop following Trent’s departure.”
Another added: “I hope Hughes and Edwards are looking at a wide player with pace. Salah isn’t as quick as he once was, and Gakpo isn’t that quick.”
A third claimed: “I think Liverpool will walk the league, but I don’t think Salah will be as needed as he was in the previous season.”
A fourth explained: “Salah fans can’t use Nunez and Diaz as scapegoats for his stinkers anymore.”
While a fifth commented: “They turned Salah into a decoy for Frimpong runs.”
The forward’s afternoon was summed up when he was booked on 86 minutes for dragging back Eberechi Eze before blazing his penalty over the bar during the shootout.
And the stats from the game were damning. According to StatMuse, the Egyptian created zero big chances, made zero successful take-ons and produced zero accurate crosses to go alongside zero successful duels.
Salah will, no doubt, be hoping to offer more when the Reds get their Premier League season underway against Bournemouth at Anfield on Friday, 15 August.
