Al Hilal reach agreement in principle to sign Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez
Al Hilal have reached an agreement in principle to sign striker Darwin Nunez from Liverpool.
A deal worth €53million plus add-ons has been struck verbally, with the 26-year-old indicating his willingness to accept the proposed move.
There are still steps that need to be taken before the move is complete, which is why the clubs have yet to issue any confirmation.
However, Liverpool allowed Nunez to negotiate with Al Hilal and — if the situation gets resolved — the Uruguay international could join the Saudi Pro League side at their training camp in Germany.
The Athletic reported on Sunday that Al Hilal had identified Nunez as a primary target and were stepping up their efforts to sign him.

AC Milan also showed an interest in signing Nunez, though it was considered unlikely that the Serie A club would be able to match the financial package that Al Hilal could put together.
Liverpool rejected an approach from Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr for Nunez in January worth around €70million (£60m, $81m) and had no intention of selling the striker midway through the season, as they competed for major honours during the second half of the campaign.
The signing will be viewed by many as a significant recruit for Al Hilal and the Saudi Pro League, with the club set to secure a player in the prime of his career from the Premier League, and for a reasonable price.
Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022 in a deal worth up to €100m (£85m) after add-ons.
He has scored 40 goals for the club across three seasons at Anfield, but started just eight Premier League matches during their title-winning 2024-25 campaign.
Liverpool have already had a busy summer, signing Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt. They have also had a £110million bid for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak rejected.
