Man Utd fans have made up their minds on Matheus Cunha after just 45 minutes vs Leeds

Manchester United fans have already made their feelings clear on Matheus Cunha after just 45 minutes of his unofficial debut.

Cunha was named in United’s starting XI to take on newly-promoted Leeds in Stockholm on Saturday afternoon.

Although the encounter is predominantly to build up fitness levels ahead of United’s pre-season tour, it has given fans an early opportunity to see Cunha and fellow new signing Diego Leon in action.

And many have already made their minds up on Brazil international Cunha, who signed from Wolves for £62.5 million earlier this summer.

One wrote: “Everyone is looking a bit sluggish apart from Cunha… got me a little worried.”

A second added: “Cunha ball carrying is the best in the team, not even Bruno can touch him.”

A third said: “Cunha looks excellent.”

And a fourth admitted: “29 minutes in and we only look dangerous when Cunha has the ball, not shocked.”

While a fifth exclaimed: “I’m sure Cunha can’t believe his eyes at the horrible football he’s seeing from United.”

The 26-year-old, therefore, appears to have been one of the few positives for United at half-time as they went into the interval at 0-0.

Although they are administratively the home team, Ruben Amorim’s side are wearing their white away kit at the Strawberry Arena.

After the Leeds clash, United will travel to the United States to take part in the Premier League Summer Series.

They take on West Ham on July 27 before fixtures against Bournemouth and Everton.

Their seasonal Old Trafford curtain-raiser sees United face Italian side Fiorentina on August 9, before they host Arsenal in their opening fixture of the Premier League season on August 17.

Amorim will hope to have some more new players for that Gunners clash, with United having reportedly agreed a £71 million fee with Brentford to sign forward Bryan Mbeumo.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the club are also targeting a new sriker and new goalkeeper, and are interested in Aston Villa shot-stopper Emiliano Martinez.
