Liverpool braced for Luis Diaz offer as Barcelona deal accelerates’
Liverpool are bracing to receive offers for Luis Diaz in the coming weeks after Nico Williams decided to commit his future to Athletic Bilbao.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that he expects Barcelona to step up their chase for the 28-year-old.
Williams had been the Spanish giants’ first-choice option on the left-hand side, but they have now turned their attentions towards Diaz after missing out.
Football Insider revealed last month that Arne Slot will demand £70million to sell Diaz this summer after they rebuffed Barcelona’s initial approach.
Barca still view the Colombia international as a top target, but there is a feeling that they may struggle to meet the asking price if Liverpool do not negotiate.
As a result, Hansi Flick’s side are also weighing up alternatives to Diaz as Brown told Football Insider that Barcelona are stepping up interest in M
