Liverpool NewsLiverpool finally agree medical date next week for target Premier League rival wanted…

Liverpool has finally confirmed a medical appointment for next week concerning a target that a Premier League rival desired.
If the reports are accurate, Liverpool has now finalized another signing for the summer.
The Merseyside club has reportedly agreed to a ‘six-figure fee’ for 16-year-old Gabriel Schluter from Blackpool.
This addition would bring the total number of new players at the AXA training center to six during the summer transfer window. This group includes Giorgi Mamardashvili (goalkeeper), Jeremie Frimpong (right-back), Armin Pecsi (goalkeeper), Florian Wirtz (attacking midfielder), and Milos Kerkez (left-back).
Excluding the Georgian international (since his deal was finalized last summer), the midfielder would mark Liverpool’s fifth signing.
Is Gabriel Schluter set to join Premier League champions Liverpool?
Transfer insider Pete O’Rourke has reported for Football Insider that Arne Slot’s team has arranged a medical for the 16-year-old next week.
This follows some exceptionally promising displays in Blackpool’s youth system, culminating in Schluter’s first and only senior appearance for the club.
The player had eight minutes of play off the bench during a Bristol Street Motors Trophy match against Liverpool U21s. The match ended in penalties, with the young Reds emerging victorious, although Gabriel Schluter notably converted his penalty after the game concluded goalless in regular time.
Fulham also expressed interest in signing Schluter.
With the Reds reportedly on the verge of finalizing a deal for the No.48, it will not come as a surprise to our fellow supporters that there was some competing interest in the player.
Stockport and fellow Premier League club Fulham were believed to have been monitoring the Blackpool star, as reported by Football League World.
Schluter was awarded the Players’ Player of the Year at Blackpool’s academy awards night in 2024.
Meanwhile, Liverpool is preparing to make a significant move for Hugo Ekitike?
It remains uncertain what Liverpool’s ultimate plan for Alexander Isak entails.
Newcastle has consistently stated that they do not plan to sell the Sweden international. However, it remains uncertain whether the determination of the Magpies or their striker will endure until September 1.
In any case, the Merseysiders have a possible alternative in mind, which could be activated if and when the club concludes negotiations with Napoli regarding Darwin Nunez.
Hugo Ekitike remains a target for Liverpool, although there are reasonable concerns about whether the club would be willing to spend approximately £85.4m to acquire the Frenchman.
Ultimately, if we are ready to invest such an amount – is exceeding the £100m threshold for Isak too significant of a risk?
What is Liverpool’s stance on Ekitike?
Christian Falk informed CaughtOffside: “There is no entirely new update on Hugo Ekitiké. Eintracht continues to demand €100m, but it is debatable whether they will achieve that.
“Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United still have him in their sights. Liverpool might take action once they have sold Darwin Nunez.
“United is the only club that has engaged with Eintracht regarding Ekitiké thus far. Currently, there have been no negotiations or even an offer.”
It’s all a matter of waiting as we aim to balance the finances slightly with the possible departure of Darwin Nunez.
