The Dutch-Spanish centre-back made waves last summer after securing a transfer to Bournemouth from Juventus in a deal that could rise to €18 million (£15 million). Despite the challenges of adapting to a new country and league, the 19-year-old has thrived for the Cherries, making 25 Premier League appearances this term.

Huijsen’s strong displays haven’t gone unnoticed, with some of Europe’s elite clubs monitoring his progress. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all reportedly keen. With a £50 million release clause becoming active this summer, rumours about his future are beginning to swirl rapidly.

Speaking to El Chiringuito TV, Huijsen opened up about his contract, which runs until 2030 and includes a release clause.“I have a contract until 2030, [but] I do have a [release] clause,” he confirmed, leaving the door open to a potential move.

When asked about possibly playing for Real Madrid, Huijsen was non-committal but didn’t dismiss the idea. “I don’t know, we’ll see. It’s a big team. Every player wants to play in the maximum [level] possible,” he responded.

Huijsen also shared some of the players who inspired him growing up. At the top of his list? Former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.“Sergio Ramos has been my idol since I was little,” he revealed.

The admiration doesn’t end there. Huijsen also praised current Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti. “He’s a very good manager. He’s not at Real Madrid for nothing. He deserves credit,” he added.
