Ryan Gravenberch breaks silence on Real Madrid links after agent’s shocking revelation

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has responded for the first time to the swirling rumors surrounding a potential move to Real Madrid this summer, following bombshell comments made by his agent, Jose Fortes Rodriguez.
In an interview with Marca, Rodriguez revealed that the Dutch star dreams of one day playing at the Santiago Bernabéu. “He’s good enough for Real Madrid,” Rodriguez declared. “We would love for him to play for them, but Liverpool would ask for a lot of money. I know they’ve had their eye on him, but now it’s impossible.”
The revelation sent shockwaves through Liverpool fans, especially with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk reportedly close to renewing their contracts, suggesting the club is building for a strong future. Yet Gravenberch’s situation may now be one to watch closely.
Gravenberch finally broke his silence during a press briefing after training. “Of course, hearing my name linked with a club like Real Madrid is flattering,” the 22-year-old admitted. “They are one of the biggest teams in the world. But right now, I’m fully focused on Liverpool. I’m happy here, and we’re building something special.”

Arne Slot has started Gravenberch in all 31 Premier League matches so far this season
Gravenberch joined the Reds from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023 and has quickly become a pivotal player under Arne Slot. He is one of only three players to have started every Premier League match this season, helping Liverpool establish an 11-point lead at the top of the table.
His agent also revealed that Real Madrid’s rivals, Barcelona, once tried to snap up Gravenberch during his youth career. “When Ryan was 16, Barca called us,” Rodriguez recalled. “They wanted to sign him, but his father and I prioritized his development. At Ajax, he was able to grow in a way that may not have been possible at Barcelona.”
Gravenberch has made 81 appearances for Liverpool, scoring four goals and providing five assists. While the interest from Spain top clubs is clearly strong, his words suggest his heart, for now, remain firmly in Merseyside
