Manchester City and Liverpool could find themselves in a battle for one of the brightest talents in world football, Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.

Since making his debut for the first team in Catalonia at the age of 15, Lamine Yamal has become one of the most highly regarded talents in global football. Now 17, he is seen as one of the best players in the world, and while Barcelona currently benefits from his skills, there’s a possibility that this situation might not last long.

Lamine Yamal, who has previously been linked with a move to PSG, is contracted with Barcelona until 2026. Although there were plans for him to sign a new five-year deal when he turns 18 in July, that could be delayed due to the La Liga club’s current inability to accommodate a new contract within their wage structure.

If Barcelona fails to secure a new deal for Lamine Yamal, there is a risk that he could leave the club by next summer. In such an event, a move to the Premier League could be on the horizon, with reports from Mundo Deportivo indicating that Manchester City and Liverpool are closely monitoring the teenager’s situation in Catalonia.

Unfortunately for both teams, the likelihood of Lamine Yamal departing Barcelona is very low. Despite their financial struggles, it is anticipated that the club will find a way to clear enough salary space to accommodate the winger’s new contract, and those within the organization are optimistic that the matter will be resolved by the summer.

Lamine Yamal would be a dream acquisition for any European club, but for the time being, it seems unlikely that he will be leaving Barcelona anytime soon.
