BREAKING NEWS: Live from Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool open talks with £50m Man city top target

The battle to sign Hugo Larsson is set to heat up during the next summer transfer window. Sources linked to CaughtOffside suggest Frankfurt expects bids for their 20-year-old star, whose market value is estimated between €60m-70m (£50.1m-58.5m).
Larsson has drawn attention from several of Europe’s elite teams, including Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham.
Reports from CaughtOffside claim Manchester City has initiated discussions with both the player and his club as they attempt to secure his signature. The midfielder is said to be open to a move to the Etihad in the coming months. However, other Premier League contenders, notably Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United, have also reached out through his representatives.
While Liverpool and other leading English clubs could present a compelling case for Larsson, Manchester City appears to have the most urgent requirement for reinforcements in midfield. With Kevin De Bruyne (33) and Ilkay Gundogan (34) approaching the end of their current deals, and uncertainty surrounding Bernardo Silva’s future, changes in City’s midfield seem inevitable unless contract negotiations take an unexpected turn.
As an energetic box-to-box midfielder with strong creative qualities, Larsson would bring added dynamism and adaptability to City’s midfield setup. He is already proficient in covering ground and engaging in pressing scenarios, attributes that align well with Pep Guardiola’s playing philosophy. However, his ball-carrying and passing remain areas where further development is needed. Compared to players like Nico Gonzalez and Gundogan, there is still potential for growth in these aspects.
