Manchester United is reportedly planning to make a summer bid for Barcelona’s promising attacking midfielder, Fermin Lopez. According to *El Nacional*, the English club intends to capitalize on the 21-year-old’s current role at Camp Nou.
Although Barcelona values Lopez highly, he doesn’t have a guaranteed spot in the starting lineup due to the team’s wealth of attacking and midfield talent. He competes for playing time against players like Marc Casado, Dani Olmo, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, and Gavi, limiting his opportunities.
As a result, the Spanish international may be considering a move to secure more consistent playing time. Further reports suggest that Manchester United is prepared to offer him a tempting salary, which could influence him to join Old Trafford.
However, discussions surrounding the transfer could be challenging, as Lopez is contracted with Barcelona until 2029, giving the Spanish club a strong bargaining position. Manchester United is reportedly preparing to make a €50 million bid, though it remains unclear whether this amount will meet Barcelona’s expectations.
The Premier League side may be aiming to enhance their left-wing options, especially considering Marcus Rashford’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain. Additionally, Alejandro Garnacho was rumored to be leaving during the winter transfer window. If Lopez moves, he could become a key player in that position. So far this season, he has started in only five La Liga matches and two Champions League games under Hansi Flick.
**Manchester United Also Eyeing Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde**
In addition to their interest in Lopez, Manchester United is said to be targeting a reinforcement for their left-back position. Despite signing Patrick Dorgu from Lecce in January, the club continues to pursue additional depth, with Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde now on their radar.
According to *El Nacional* (via *TeamTalk*), the English club is preparing a €40 million offer for the 20-year-old defender. While Balde is an important figure in Barcelona’s squad, financial issues could force the Spanish club to consider offers. However, manager Hansi Flick is reportedly keen on keeping the Spanish international.
Balde has been an integral part of the team this season, featuring in 31 matches across all competitions, scoring once, and providing six assists. His contract with Barcelona runs until 2028, meaning any potential transfer would require significant negotiations.
