Barcelona claimed an important 1-0 win against Rayo Vallecano, regaining the top position in La Liga with 51 points, edging out Real Madrid on goal difference.
Despite the victory, coach Hansi Flick was reportedly dissatisfied with the team’s overall performance. However, he commended Pedri for his outstanding performance, telling him, “I wish all 11 players were like you.”
Conversely, Flick expressed frustration with Lamine Yamal for over-dribbling and holding onto the ball too long, warning that it might cost him his spot in the starting lineup. He also criticized Lewandowski and Raphinha for their underwhelming performances, urging them to perform better in key moments.
Club president Joan Laporta visited the locker room to personally congratulate Pedri, saying, “You are the only player who fights for the badge and truly deserved this victory.” He also advised Flick to make more decisive substitutions when players are underperforming, stressing the importance of the team’s success over individual reputations.
