Recent reports suggest that INEOS, the group that owns Manchester United, is holding an urgent meeting to talk about the future of manager Ruben Amorim. The club’s leadership is said to have lost trust in Amorim because of the team’s disappointing performance since his appointment.

Under Amorim’s leadership, Manchester United has faced difficulties, currently sitting in the Premier League’s bottom six with just 13 points from 14 league matches. This poor start has raised alarms among the club’s management, prompting the consideration of a change in leadership.

The board’s dissatisfaction with Amorim’s tenure is further deepened by internal conflicts regarding his hiring. Former sporting director Dan Ashworth, who favored more experienced candidates like Thomas Frank, resigned due to disagreements about Amorim’s appointment.

As INEOS considers its next steps, the club finds itself at a critical turning point. The decision to part ways with Amorim will have major consequences for Manchester United’s future direction and performance.

Manchester United’s management is said to be holding an emergency meeting to discuss the future of head coach Ruben Amorim, following a series of disappointing results that have placed the team in 15th place in the Premier League. Since his appointment on November 11, 2024, Amorim has led the team to four wins and eight losses in 14 league games, averaging 1.00 points per game, a drop from his predecessor Erik ten Hag’s 1.22 points per game.
