Agent Jude! Bellingham ‘intervening’ in Real Madrid’s pursuit of Trent Alexander-Arnold as Liverpool star backed to join ‘best friend’ at Santiago Bernabeu
Recent reports indicate that Real Madrid is keen on acquiring Liverpool’s right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract is set to expire at the conclusion of the current season. Former Liverpool midfielder Jermaine Pennant believes that Jude Bellingham, who made the move to Real Madrid in June 2023, is playing a part in encouraging his close friend Alexander-Arnold to join him at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The two players have built a strong friendship through their time with the England national team, and this connection may have an impact on Alexander-Arnold’s decision. Real Madrid has already made an initial offer of £20 million for the right-back, which Liverpool rejected. However, with Alexander-Arnold’s contract approaching its end, he will soon be able to enter negotiations with overseas clubs, including Real Madrid, from January.
Pennant shared his thoughts on the situation, saying, “I think he’ll probably go to Real Madrid to play with his best friend, Jude. I’m sure Jude is intervening a little bit. ‘Agent Jude’ as they say. I’m sure they’ve had that conversation. They are happy together; they’ve played great football and I think that Trent will end up at Madrid.”
As the season moves forward, Alexander-Arnold is faced with a major decision about his future, weighing the opportunity to reunite with Bellingham at Real Madrid against continuing his career at his boyhood club, Liverpool.
