In an exciting Coppa Italia quarter-final, AC Milan triumphed 3-1 over AS Roma, marking Kyle Walker’s first win with the Rossoneri following his loan transfer from Manchester City. The game highlighted the team’s resilience and determination, with Walker playing a crucial role in keeping focus and discipline on the field.

Tammy Abraham, also on loan but from Roma, stood out by scoring twice in the first half against his parent club. Despite the Roma fans’ boos, Abraham chose not to celebrate his goals, later admitting that the crowd’s reaction made him feel ‘hurt.’

Walker’s leadership was evident throughout the match. At halftime, with Milan ahead 2-0, he reminded his teammates, “It’s 0-0, we keep going,” stressing the importance of continuing their effort and avoiding complacency. Although Roma pulled one back early in the second half, substitute João Félix quickly restored Milan’s two-goal lead.

This win sends AC Milan into the Coppa Italia semi-finals, moving them closer to their first title in the competition since 2003. The team’s focus now shifts to their next Serie A match against Empoli, aiming to carry this momentum forward.

Reflecting on his move to Milan, Walker shared his excitement during his presentation press conference: “Playing for Milan is fantastic. It’s a great ambition for my career to try a new experience. I thought this was a great opportunity to come here and express my talent.”

He also emphasized his leadership role, saying, “With my age and my experience, that’s what I have to do. There’s a lack of confidence tied to the results. I think the new coach has a good idea. Now discipline is needed. That’s my role, which is not only related to the pitch. I’ve won a lot and I come with that experience.”

As AC Milan continues their journey, the inclusion of experienced players like Walker aims to strengthen the team’s confidence and performance in both domestic and European competitions.
