JUST IN: Liverpool star has left the club today

Jordan Henderson’s reputation has taken a hit in the past 18 months, but the former Liverpool captain defended himself strongly during a press conference this weekend.
After Ajax’s dramatic victory over Feyenoord, the 34-year-old was asked numerous questions regarding the recent speculation about a potential move to Monaco.
It was evident that the Sunderland-born midfielder wanted to ensure his version of events was heard, and he did exactly what Wesley Sneijder had encouraged him to do.
From what the England international shared, it seems he was clarifying his side of the story, stating that both clubs were negotiating a fee for his transfer.
This contradicts the narrative that our former No. 14 was attempting to leave for free and threatening to refuse to play unless the move happened.
The reason he wasn’t the captain during Ajax’s latest Europa League match was that he felt the club wanted him to leave and didn’t believe he should carry the armband.
However, the tone of the questions and his responses suggested that not everyone agreed with his reasoning, which led to a very tense press conference.

The former Al-Ettifaq player lost considerable respect in the football world when he left Anfield for Saudi Arabia, especially since it seemed Jurgen Klopp wanted to reduce his playing time as part of a midfield overhaul.
It’s unfortunate to see, as the man who spent 12 years at Liverpool is now fighting to restore his credibility, but he did so with admirable confidence.
By simply stepping up, defending his position, and explaining that he didn’t feel valued by the club, which led him to believe he shouldn’t be their captain, but that he would still give 100%, it was a candid and refreshing exchange.
This honesty is commendable, though his choice of destination after leaving Merseyside is more complicated. However, the leader and honorable man who lifted countless trophies in a red shirt is still present, and this moment provided a glimpse of the old Henderson.
