Chelsea fans demand Enzo Maresca drop player immediately after nightmare Man City defeat

The Blues opened the scoring in the third minute when Noni Madueke capitalized on an error by debutant Abdukodir Khusanov.

However, City leveled the match before halftime through left-back Josko Gvardiol, and Erling Haaland put them ahead in the second half. Phil Foden later exploited Chelsea’s defensive miscommunication, breaking through to slot the ball past Robert Sanchez and secure a 3-1 victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Chelsea fans were left furious with an earlier error by Sanchez, which they believe cost their team dearly. They have since called on manager Enzo Maresca to drop the Spaniard for their next game.

Before City’s second goal, Sanchez rushed out of his goal to intercept a long ball from Ederson but quickly retreated when it became clear that Haaland would reach it first. This hesitation left Sanchez stranded, giving Haaland the opportunity to take two touches and chip the ball into the net.

Although the finish from the Norwegian was brilliant, Chelsea fans have urged Maresca to replace Sanchez with backup goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen for the upcoming matches.
