The missed opportunity seemed more significant when Southampton took the lead shortly afterward. However, Amad Diallo’s late hat-trick saved United from humiliation.

Garnacho, who made his 11th Premier League start of the season at Old Trafford, continues to attract transfer rumors. Napoli is reportedly keen on signing the Argentine winger and has been closely monitoring his situation.

The Mirror reports that United has rejected a £40 million offer from Napoli for Garnacho. The Serie A leaders are preparing for a potential sale of Khvicha Kvaratskelia to PSG in a £70 million deal and are looking at Garnacho as a potential replacement. United is said to be demanding £60 million for the winger, who came through the club’s youth academy and has netted 23 goals in 116 appearances since his debut in 2022.

Despite ongoing transfer speculation, Garnacho remains at Old Trafford for the time being. He has had a difficult relationship with manager Ruben Amorim, having been left out of the squad for the Manchester derby in December, though he played the entire 90 minutes against Southampton.
