Arsenal, Liverpool & Man City receive huge Martin Zubimendi transfer boost

Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City have reportedly received a significant boost in their pursuit of Martin Zubimendi, with the midfielder now seemingly more open to leaving Real Sociedad in 2025.

Liverpool had previously attempted to sign Zubimendi last summer but were turned down by the Spanish international, who chose to remain at Sociedad at that time.

Since then, both Arsenal and Manchester City have shown interest, and a potential transfer seems more feasible, as reports from *The Athletic* suggest that the 25-year-old is no longer committed to staying at Sociedad.

Zubimendi’s willingness to consider a departure in 2025 is linked to the idea of being able to plan ahead, while also giving Sociedad ample time to prepare for a sale.

A summer transfer is viewed as more likely than a January move, as Zubimendi recently made it clear he was not focused on transfer rumors ahead of the winter window.

Sociedad are believed to be open to selling the player for the right price, with club president Jokin Aperribay eager to establish the club as a reliable stepping stone for players aiming to join top-tier teams.

Zubimendi’s contract reportedly includes a release clause set at €60m (£49.7m), which any interested party would need to meet, with the Spain international’s deal lasting until 2027.
