During the recent match between Valencia and Real Madrid, the Spanish Football Federation revealed the communication between referee Caesar Soto Grado and VAR officials regarding the controversial red card given to Vinicius Jr.
In the exchange, VAR officials informed Soto Grado about a potential violent conduct by the Brazilian player, suggesting that he review the footage to make an informed decision.

“Caesar, I will advise you to use the video to assess a possible violent conduct, as I’ve already mentioned. Look at the impact, first at 50%, then at normal speed,” one of the VAR officials said.
After reviewing the video, Soto Grado confirmed his decision: “Okay, I will give him a red card. The ball is stationary, right? He strikes the defender in the face with his arms. Number 7, red card.”
