Alexander-Arnold bagged the fourth for the league leaders in a 5-0 hammering at the London Stadium, his strike following goals from Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah and coming before Diogo Jota got in on the act.

The England international’s deflected effort went in off Max Kilman and he was mobbed by his teammates. But fans noticed the celebration from Alexander-Arnold, who appeared to raise his hand to his ear and mimicked a talking gesture.

It follows on from reports in Spain claiming that the Alexander-Arnold is set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer, when his Liverpool contract is due to expire.

Reports in England have poured cold water on the suggestions that a deal is done and Alexander-Arnold appeared to be giving his take on the chatter about his situation.

One fan wrote: “Trent Alexander Arnold confirming he’s staying at Liverpool with this celebration?”

A second said: “He hit the ‘All talk’ celebration. Probably telling us all to stfu.”

A third added: “Y’all catch the ‘media is yapping’ Trent Celebration?”.

A fourth user weighed in, commenting: “Trent’s celebration… He’s staying.”

Another added: “I’m choosing to view that ‘chatter’ celebration from Trent as positive.”

A final user posted: “Nahhhh that celebration has done me. Sign the contract Trent, become a legend at this football club, we’re begging you.”

What’s the latest update from Spain on Real Madrid’s pursuit of Alexander-Arnold?

According to Relevo journalist Javier Rodríguez Pascua, Real have told Liverpool that they intend to negotiate a deal with Alexander-Arnold in January ahead of a free transfer and are “confident” of doing a deal.

In addition, The Athletic say there is “optimism” at Real about the possibility of Alexander-Arnold linking up with England teammate and friend Jude Bellingham.

A bombshell from Spanish outlet Marca, claims Alexander-Arnold has ‘told Liverpool’s directors’ that he wants to play for the 15-time European champions.

As it stands, Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Salah are all free to speak to foreign clubs over a free transfer as their contracts are nearing the end.
