BREAKING NEWS: live from Old Trafford, “If Rashford can’t get his act together and become the player everyone expects under a composed manager like Amorim, then let’s be real—his career is done! He’s heading straight down the Jesse Lingard path—27 years old and still struggling. It’s unacceptable! If he doesn’t deliver now, the club must start looking for his replacement. Enough chances—this is his final warning. Step up or step out.

Troy Deeney has voiced his disappointment over the direction Marcus Rashford’s career has taken, as reports emerge that Manchester United are considering selling the forward. Now 27, Rashford has faced criticism for his inconsistent form this season, registering seven goals and three assists in 23 appearances across all competitions.

United are reportedly open to offers of around £40 million for Rashford, who currently earns £325,000 per week. This potential move has been interpreted as a missed chance for Rashford to fully realize his potential at Old Trafford.

Deeney suggested that leaving Manchester United would be a sign of unfulfilled expectations, calling on Rashford to show more maturity. Speaking to talkSPORT, the former Watford captain remarked:

“At 27, you should be at the peak of your powers. The financial side is sorted, so who are you as a person? What do you stand for?”

He also compared Rashford’s situation to that of Jesse Lingard, stating:

“I’m disappointed because Rashford could have been a world-beater, a shining star, and a club legend. Instead, I fear he’ll tarnish that legacy and end up like Jesse Lingard.”

Lingard, now 31, left United in 2022 following a mixed career at the club that was often overshadowed by off-field issues. During his time at Old Trafford, he made 232 appearances and scored 35 goals, including a memorable winner in the 2016 FA Cup final.

Rashford’s character and personal life have frequently come under scrutiny, with many believing United once hoped he would follow in the footsteps of club legends like Wayne Rooney.
