Cole Palmer dropped the coldest response of the season when asked why he chipped Fraser Forster to make Premier League history

Cole Palmer delivered a cold response when asked why he decided to chip Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Fraser Forster from the penalty spot.
Enzo Maresca’s team orchestrated a remarkable comeback at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon, securing a crucial Premier League victory.
Spurs raced to a 2-0 lead within 11 minutes, but Jadon Sancho reduced the deficit to 2-1 in the 17th minute.
In the second half, Palmer led Chelsea to a 4-3 triumph, scoring twice from the penalty spot and delivering a superb assist for Fernandez, who made it 3-2.
For his second penalty in the 84th minute, Palmer executed a brilliant panenka to extend Chelsea’s lead to 4-2, setting new Premier League and Chelsea records in the process.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Palmer explained his decision to chip the penalty: “We knew it was going to be tough, so to win is good. When I stepped back and looked at the clock, I thought it’s a bit frantic, the game is all over the place, and I thought the keeper was ready to dive, so I just chipped it. I’m just trying to score, and thankfully it went in.”
When asked about Chelsea’s title chances, Palmer added: “We knew with Arsenal and City drawing that we needed to win, and we did.”
Jamie Carragher, a former England and Liverpool defender, also praised Palmer during Sky Sports commentary: “Of course it’s a penalty. You could see it happening. I said in the first half how naive this Tottenham team are. It’s just not working. The decision-making from some of these players—academy players wouldn’t do that.
“What a signing he’s been and what a penalty. It’s brilliant. He is coolness personified.”
Chelsea will return to action on Thursday night against Astana in the UEFA Europa League.
