Arne Slot has been dealt a major blow ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Everton on Saturday as the Reds will be without key star Alexis Mac Allister.

Arne Slot faces a significant setback ahead of Liverpool’s match against Everton on Saturday, as key player Alexis Mac Allister will be unavailable. The Argentine midfielder, a crucial figure in Liverpool’s strong start to the season, has been ever-present in the squad, featuring in all 14 Premier League matches and 20 games overall. However, his accumulation of five yellow cards, the latest received during Liverpool’s match against Newcastle on Wednesday, has resulted in a one-match suspension. Mac Allister was booked in the 20th minute at St. James’ Park for obstructing Newcastle defender Fabian Schar, earning a ban that rules him out of the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Liverpool are already dealing with a depleted squad, with Ibrahima Konate, Kostas Tsimikas, and Conor Bradley unavailable, while Trent Alexander-Arnold is still being eased back into action following an injury. Despite these challenges, the absence of Mac Allister could prove pivotal. His role in Liverpool’s midfield is critical, and Slot will have to find a way to maintain control in a potentially physical contest against Sean Dyche’s Everton, who are likely to exploit Liverpool’s current vulnerabilities.
