As Barcelona strategize for the 2025 summer transfer window, they are not only focusing on reinforcements but also planning several key departures. Reports suggest that the club has identified three players who may leave next year due to underperformance, injuries, or financial considerations.

Frenkie de Jong

Despite being one of the team captains, De Jong’s future at Barcelona looks uncertain. The Dutch midfielder’s high wages, coupled with the club’s deep midfield roster, have made him a likely candidate for departure. Barcelona had offered him a contract renewal, but with no response and his deal expiring in 2026, the club may look to sell him in the summer. If he resists leaving, there is even talk of potentially terminating his contract to free up salary space.

Ansu Fati

Once seen as Lionel Messi’s heir, Ansu Fati’s struggles continue. After a disappointing loan at Brighton and recurring injuries, the young forward has fallen far down the pecking order. A loan move in January is possible, but Barcelona are likely to push for a permanent exit in the summer, marking a bittersweet end to what once seemed like a promising career at the club.

Ferran Torres

Signed with high expectations from Manchester City, Ferran Torres has struggled to secure a consistent starting role. Despite being a useful substitute, he hasn’t reached the level Barcelona require. With emerging stars like Lamine Yamal and Raphinha solidifying their roles and plans for a new winger, Torres appears set to leave next summer.

As the club aims to revamp its squad, these exits are expected to help free up funds and create opportunities for new talent.
