Raphinha digs out Barcelona teammates after first home loss – ‘We’re doing lots of things badly’
Barcelona experienced their first loss at Montjuïc under manager Hansi Flick on Saturday, falling 2-1 to a determined Las Palmas side. This result extends their winless streak in La Liga to three games, having earned just one point during that stretch. After the match, vice-captain Raphinha expressed his frustration openly to the press.
Raphinha emphasized the need for improvement, stating that the team had lowered its level, leading to mistakes that were proving costly. He stressed the importance of analyzing their shortcomings and turning things around in the upcoming game on Tuesday. While he scored a goal during the match, Raphinha dismissed its significance, focusing instead on the need for victories.
The Brazilian also criticized Las Palmas for their time-wasting tactics but avoided further comments to steer clear of potential sanctions.
Barcelona now prepares to face RCD Mallorca at Son Moix in a midweek fixture. Their lead over Real Madrid could shrink to just one point if Madrid defeats Getafe on Sunday. Despite the defeat, Raphinha was named player of the match, though it was a rare highlight in an otherwise disappointing team performance.
