Ruben Amorim was left visibly furious at one thing that Manchester United players did during their Europa League clash against Bodo/Glimt.

Manchester United opened the scoring in the first minute through Alejandro Garnacho but quickly fell behind after goals from Håkon Evjen and Philip Zinckernagel. Rasmus Højlund equalized before halftime with a well-executed finish and later secured the 3-2 win in the second half, solidifying his case for a consistent starting spot.

Ruben Amorim found positives in the second-half performance, particularly in the contributions of Højlund and Noussair Mazraoui. Tactical adjustments made by the Portuguese coach helped United improve, but the first-half display highlighted areas that need attention.

Amorim was visibly frustrated during the first half, especially when the team failed to utilize Antony, who was playing as a right wing-back. According to *The United Stand*, Amorim was vocal on the touchline about the lack of quick ball movement to Antony, showing his dissatisfaction. Antony, making his first start of the season, was substituted in the second half as Amorim implemented further tactical changes.

Those adjustments proved crucial as United secured their first victory under Amorim following a 1-1 draw against Ipswich. Speaking after that match, Amorim emphasized the importance of building a long-term playing style despite short-term challenges.

He explained to Sky Sports: “We cannot fully control the game at the moment, but the players are really trying. This approach comes with risks, but if we avoid them now, we’ll face the same issues next year. The players will occasionally feel confused, but we must persist with the new ideas to improve for the future.”

Addressing tactical concerns, Amorim added: “People focus on the 3-4-3 system, but it’s more about understanding the game. There’s a lot of work needed in that area, and we aim to develop significantly over time.”
