Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has reportedly urged the club’s management to sign a player from the Spanish league to bolster the team’s squad this season.
According to “Marca,” while Flick is pleased with the team’s results, he believes there is a lack of depth in key areas, particularly in defense. To address this, the German coach has recommended signing Andrei Ratiu, a Rayo Vallecano defender who has been on the club’s radar for several months.
Ratiu, one of the standout defenders in La Liga, has played 11 matches this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist. His ability to adapt to different roles, including as a winger, adds valuable versatility to the team. Flick sees Ratiu as a player who could support Jules Kounde and provide much-needed rest for him.
Ratiu’s contract includes a 28 million euro release clause, but Vallecano’s financial challenges could lead to a lower transfer fee during the winter transfer window.
