Barcelona is working to secure several key signings to assemble a top-tier lineup and reclaim its place on the global and European stages. A key priority for the club is strengthening the right-back position, which would allow Jules Kounde to return to his natural role as a central defender.

According to “Sport,” Portuguese international Joao Cancelo is reportedly interested in returning to European football after his tenure with Al-Hilal Saudi Club. Cancelo joined Al-Hilal last summer from Manchester City for a fee of 25 million euros, signing a contract that runs until June 2027. Despite this, the player has expressed a desire to rejoin Barcelona after his successful stint in Saudi Arabia.

Cancelo previously spent a season on loan at Barcelona from Manchester City but did not remain with the club due to salary constraints. In a prior statement, Cancelo revealed that although Pep Guardiola encouraged him to move to Real Madrid, his loyalty to Barcelona was unwavering. At 30 years old, Cancelo believes he can still perform at a high level in Europe, citing his strong showings for Al-Hilal and the Portuguese national team as proof of his capabilities.
