Barcelona ended Brest’s unbeaten run in the Champions League with a dominant 3-0 victory on Tuesday evening at the Olympic Stadium of Luis Companys, in the fifth round of the group stage. With this win, Barcelona reached 12 points, temporarily rising to second place, while Brest dropped to ninth with 10 points.

According to *El Nacional*, Barcelona is delighted with the impressive performance, having now won four consecutive Champions League matches. The report revealed that German coach Hansi Flick was particularly pleased with the performance of midfielder Pedri, telling him in the locker room, “I can’t find the right words to describe how wonderful what you’re doing on the field.”

Pedri’s contribution didn’t go unnoticed, as Brest coach Eric Roy also praised him, admitting that his team’s midfield had been severely troubled by Pedri’s exceptional passes and movements.

Flick also congratulated Marc Casado for his solid defensive performance, acknowledging his role in stifling Brest’s attacks. Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona’s Polish striker, credited his goal tally this season to the midfield duo of Pedri and Casado, stating, “Without them, I wouldn’t have scored this number of goals this season.”

In a surprising twist, Barcelona president Joan Laporta went straight to Gerard Martin after the match to congratulate him on his solid performance, especially given the heavy criticism Martin had received following Barcelona’s previous draw with Celta Vigo.
