Barcelona ended Brest’s unbeaten run in the Champions League with an emphatic 3-0 victory on Tuesday evening at the Olympic Stadium of Luis Companys. The match, part of the fifth round of the group stage, saw Barcelona climb to 12 points, temporarily taking second place, while Brest dropped to ninth with 10 points.

According to *El Nacional*, Frenkie de Jong faced a difficult moment during the match. The Dutch midfielder, who is reportedly not in peak physical or mental condition, was met with boos from a section of the fans when he entered the field. This reaction deeply affected De Jong, who was seen in tears in the locker room post-match.

The report stated that German coach Hansi Flick addressed the situation by asking the team to support De Jong during this challenging time. Flick expressed confidence that the midfielder would overcome this setback and regain his form to return to the starting lineup.

In the post-match press conference, when asked about De Jong’s current state, Flick responded:

“No, what I would say is that Frenkie is working hard to get back. He is working very hard, and I think right now he is not at 100 percent.

We are giving him the opportunity in training and also in matches to get back to his best. But, well, that is our job as coaches, that’s our role, and I am sure he will succeed.”
