Hansi Flick surprises Barcelona star and relies on him as a starter against Brest tonight

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has made adjustments to the squad for tonight’s Champions League clash against Brest, introducing a new player to the lineup amidst an injury crisis. Key absentees include Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, Eric García, and Ronald Araújo, with Alejandro Balde also ruled out due to muscle issues.

The Catalan side enters the match following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo, where a red card for Casado and late defensive lapses saw their two-goal lead evaporate. Determined to rebound in Europe, Barcelona seeks their fourth consecutive Champions League victory to solidify their position in the next round.

According to journalist Javi Miguel, Héctor Fort is expected to start at left-back in place of Balde. Flick has chosen to rely on Fort over Gerard Martin, whose form has been underwhelming since his promotion to the senior squad.

With hopes of maintaining momentum in the Champions League, Flick’s Barcelona will look to secure another victory against Brest and edge closer to qualification for the knockout stages.
