Leny Yoro debut and major Rashford call: Ruben Amorim predicted Man United XI

Ruben Amorim looks set to potentially hand Leny Yoro his long-awaited competitive Man United debut on Sunday afternoon as one of two changes away at Ipswich Town.

Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge of Manchester United will take place on 24 November at Portman Road, where he will be keen to make a positive impression and restore the club’s fortunes after Erik ten Hag’s tenure ended in disappointment. The new boss will be under pressure to get the team back on track, and his tactical approach will be closely scrutinized.

Leny Yoro could finally make his first Man United appearance

Reports suggest Amorim has favored a 3-4-3 formation in training, which is likely to be his setup against Ipswich. One of the key storylines will be the potential debut of Leny Yoro, who has had a frustrating start at Old Trafford after his move from Lille. The 19-year-old has been sidelined with a foot injury but has trained under Amorim this week, and his involvement in the senior squad could be a sign that he’s in line for a starting role.

Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez are both doubts for the game, with Martinez struggling with injury after withdrawing from international duty. This could pave the way for Mathijs de Ligt to start, with Luke Shaw possibly filling a spot on the left of the back three, having also returned to fitness after a long layoff.

In the wing-back positions, Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui are expected to take on the key roles, providing both defensive stability and attacking support. In midfield, Amorim could opt for a partnership between Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte, who the manager knows well from their time in Portugal. Bruno Fernandes is likely to take a more advanced role, partnering Amad Diallo, who has been actively involved in training this week.

Upfront, Marcus Rashford may be given the chance to lead the line, a shift from his usual role as a winger. This could be a result of rumors about a change in his position, with Chris Sutton suggesting the move could benefit the team. Rasmus Hojlund, who went away with Denmark, and Joshua Zirkzee, who has yet to make a significant impact, could find themselves on the bench, making Rashford the most logical option to spearhead the attack.

With Amorim’s tactical setup and team selection under close scrutiny, Manchester United fans will be eager to see how their new manager’s vision unfolds in his first match in charge.
