While the financial situation of FC Barcelona is improving slightly, the club’s leaders are faced with a new economic’, this time linked to Lamine Yamal. The 17-year-old prodigy does not seem willing to make any concessions to the Catalan club.

Lamine Yamal, fresh off winning Euro 2024 with Spain, has continued to dazzle on the international stage. The left-footed prodigy, of Moroccan and Equatorial Guinean descent, was named the tournament’s best young player, showcasing his ability to lead offensively and deliver in crucial moments.

At FC Barcelona, Yamal has also had a stellar start to the season. However, his trajectory faces potential complications due to off-field matters. According to the Catalan newspaper *Sport*, his agent, Jorge Mendes, is pushing for a revision of his contract.

Signed at the age of 16 for three years in compliance with legal regulations, Yamal’s current deal includes a clause for a significant salary increase upon turning 18. However, Mendes argues that his client’s exceptional performances warrant an immediate revaluation.

With 14 appearances for Spain already, Yamal is seen as an icon at Barcelona, with influence extending beyond the pitch. This situation reportedly places club president Joan Laporta in a difficult position as he navigates the demands of securing the young star’s future while balancing financial constraints.
