Arsenal Reportedly in Talks to Sign Fabian Ruiz from PSG as Mikel Arteta Eyes Midfield Reinforcement Following Emile Smith Rowe’s Potential Exit, with a Loan-to-Buy Deal Possible

Arsenal have reportedly initiated talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz, according to Duncan Castles of *Football Transfers*. Ruiz, who played a key role in Spain’s Euro 2024 victory with two goals and two assists, is seen by manager Mikel Arteta as an ideal addition to the squad. Arteta values the 28-year-old for his precise passing and ability to excel in one-on-one situations.

The potential signing comes as Arsenal negotiate with Fulham over the sale of Emile Smith Rowe, with Ruiz possibly viewed as his replacement. Despite his strong showings at Euro 2024, Ruiz might be available at a reasonable price, with Transfermarkt estimating his value at around £30 million. Reports suggest Arsenal could secure him on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy next summer.

Since moving from Napoli to PSG, where he was once considered one of Europe’s top midfielders, Ruiz has struggled for consistent playing time under Luis Enrique. This situation could facilitate a move, especially as PSG reportedly looks to offload him to make room for Benfica’s Joao Neves.

Arteta, familiar with Ruiz’s style due to their shared Spanish roots, has long admired the midfielder, particularly after his standout performances in Euro 2024. A move to Arsenal could offer Ruiz the chance to reinvigorate his career while helping the Gunners in their pursuit of Premier League success against Manchester City.
