BREAKING: PGMOL finally awarded Kai Havertz offside goal, error made in the VAR check after recent review, PGMOL apologize to Arsenal as Three points now awarded to Arsenal – Congratulations Arsenal fans

In Arsenal’s recent high-stakes match against Chelsea, Kai Havertz thought he’d scored the opening goal against his former team, only for it to be disallowed by VAR. The goal came after Declan Rice took a quick free-kick, setting Havertz up to slot the ball past Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez. Havertz celebrated by gesturing to silence the Chelsea fans, but VAR quickly intervened, ruling him offside.
The Premier League Match Centre provided an official explanation, stating that while referee Anthony Taylor initially awarded the goal, VAR reviewed the play and determined Havertz had moved ahead of Levi Colwill before Rice’s pass, putting him in an offside position. This level of transparency, championed by PGMOL chief Howard Webb, aims to clarify VAR decisions for fans and players alike.
Arsenal, who had come into the match on a rough patch with recent losses to Inter Milan and Newcastle, were looking to regain momentum. However, despite their struggle to secure wins in the Premier League since their October 5 victory over Southampton, they remain within striking distance of the league’s top spot. With Manchester City enduring their own challenges, including a fourth straight loss, Arsenal and other title contenders like Liverpool—currently leading by five points after defeating Aston Villa—are in prime positions to capitalize as the season progresses.
