Ruud van Nistelrooy concluded his stint as Manchester United’s interim manager on a high, with a 3-0 victory over Leicester City at Old Trafford. Bruno Fernandes marked his 250th game for United by opening the scoring with a precise shot from outside the box. The United captain also played a role in the team’s second goal before halftime, as his shot deflected off Leicester’s Victor Kristiansen for an own goal.

In the second half, substitute Alejandro Garnacho thrilled fans with a long-range strike, curling the ball into the top corner. Fernandes was involved in the buildup once again, showcasing his influence throughout the match as United showed renewed scoring form.

Leicester had a few chances, with Andre Onana making a key save to deny Wilfred Ndidi, but Van Nistelrooy’s time as interim manager ended positively, with three wins and one draw across his four matches. United’s victory elevated them to 12th place, while Leicester remains in 15th.
