Man Utd’s ‘asking price’ for Alejandro Garnacho revealed as fans make transfer demand after Chelsea draw

Manchester United’s asking price for Alejandro Garnacho has been disclosed following fan criticism of his performance in the team’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
Garnacho joined Manchester from Atletico Madrid at 16 in 2020, becoming one of the last players to move to England from the EU before Brexit regulations on young overseas players took effect.
He signed his first professional contract the following year and has spent two-and-a-half years with the first team after being promoted by Erik ten Hag.
Last season was his best yet, scoring seven Premier League goals, including a spectacular bicycle kick against Everton in November.
This season, however, has been more challenging for the 20-year-old, who faced criticism from fans after United’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday.
The backlash was intense enough that a small minority of fans suggested the club consider selling the winger, despite his status as one of United’s top young talents.
If United were to sell Garnacho, The Sun reported last month that they wouldn’t feel pressured to do so, as he signed a new five-year contract last April.
The club would reportedly consider offers around £50 million, amid interest from Barcelona and Juventus last summer. However, incoming manager Ruben Amorim may value him higher.
Amorim will officially take over as United’s manager on November 11, following interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, who oversaw the Chelsea draw and Wednesday’s 5-2 Carabao Cup win against Leicester.
Van Nistelrooy will also manage Thursday’s Europa League game against PAOK and another home league match against Leicester before handing over to Amorim, who will debut as United manager on November 24 in an away match at Ipswich’s Portman Road.
