Erik ten Hag, the former Manchester United manager, is currently taking a break after being dismissed from Old Trafford. It has been a week since his departure from the club, and he is taking some additional time to consider his next steps. Meanwhile, Manchester United moved quickly to appoint Ruben Amorim as his replacement.

Over the weekend, Ten Hag returned to the Netherlands, where he was spotted attending an Eredivisie match between Heracles and NAC Breda. His departure came with United sitting 14th in the Premier League and still winless in the Europa League after three matches.

Prior to his time at Manchester United, Ten Hag had managed Utrecht and Ajax. Dutch journalist Tijmen van Wissing has speculated that Ten Hag’s future roles could include a position with PSV Eindhoven, Ajax’s rival. According to FC Update, Ten Hag is expected to take on one or two more prominent roles in European football, potentially including PSV if current coach Peter Bosz chooses to move on.

“I truly believe in Erik ten Hag,” van Wissing noted. “I think he’ll take on two or three more major projects in his career.”
