United managed to secure a home point despite initially taking the lead with 20 minutes left in the match.
Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty after Rasmus Højlund was fouled, but Chelsea quickly responded, equalizing just five minutes later.
United’s challenging start to the Premier League season continues, as they currently sit in 13th place with only 12 points after 10 games.
However, Van Nistelrooy saw positives in the team’s performance, especially considering Chelsea’s strong form and the numerous difficulties United is facing. He praised five players, particularly those in defense and midfield, for their solid displays.
“From the back, center, Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs De Ligt did a great job,” Van Nistelrooy told *Sky Sports*, commending their efforts in containing Chelsea’s attack.
Mazraoui also stood out, earning United’s Man of the Match award for his strong performance. Still, the front three had limited impact, and United appeared uninspired in the attacking third.
Marcus Rashford started well but faded after switching wings with Alejandro Garnacho—a move by Van Nistelrooy that left some fans puzzled.
Incoming head coach Ruben Amorim will have plenty to tackle upon his arrival at Old Trafford, with consistent goal-scoring likely to be a top priority.
