Arsenal fans have spotted incredibly worrying trend under Mikel Arteta that will take a long time to fix

Arsenal fans have identified a deeply troubling pattern under Mikel Arteta following their loss to Newcastle United.

The Gunners aimed to return to winning form in the Premier League after a 2-2 draw with Liverpool, which came on the heels of a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

However, it was another away loss for Arteta’s side, with Alexander Isak scoring the only goal of the game from an impressive Anthony Gordon cross in the first half.

This defeat could see Arsenal slip further behind title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool, and fans are united in recognizing a significant issue impacting the team.

Injuries and suspensions have posed recent challenges, but many supporters feel the team is struggling to create clear opportunities from open play and has become overly dependent on set pieces.

While the set pieces have worked well this season, the lack of creativity in the final third is a growing worry.

One fan commented: “This team can’t create chances without Odegaard or a creative midfielder. Just give it to Saka and hope, or rely on set pieces. That’s it.”

Another wrote: “How the f*** do we only look dangerous from set pieces kmt wtf is wrong with this club man.”

A third fan agreed: “We’re a very simple team to play against right now. Defend set pieces well and shut down Saka, and the rest of our attack seems lost.”

A fourth vented: “No shots on target in the 2nd half. Thank you, @m8arteta. Just focus on scoring from set pieces every week.”

A fifth added: “Arsenal really just rely on set pieces or cross-and-header plays for chance creation now. It’s grim to watch.”
