**Liverpool Eyes Barcelona Starlet Fermin Lopez Amid Growing Interest from Top Clubs**

Reports from Spain suggest that Liverpool is gearing up to pursue Barcelona’s emerging midfielder, Fermin Lopez, following praise from Barcelona legends. Although Liverpool revamped their midfield last summer, they’re exploring new options after missing out on Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi. Sporting director Richard Hughes sees Lopez, a 21-year-old standout, as a potential fit for Liverpool’s future plans.

With a contract running until 2027, Lopez could attract bids from multiple clubs, including Arsenal and PSG, with Barcelona reportedly open to offers near €80 million (£66.9 million) for a 2024 move. Known for his playmaking skills, Lopez’s style aligns with Liverpool’s current midfield creator Dominik Szoboszlai, offering additional attacking depth.

Lopez, who shone in Barcelona’s 2023/24 preseason under Xavi Hernandez, has shown versatility, adapting to both central and advanced roles. His previous season boasted 11 goals in 42 appearances, and he ranks in Europe’s top percentile for shots and xG, showcasing his offensive prowess.

Though still speculative, the potential signing of Lopez would provide Liverpool with a creative, high-energy midfielder who could bolster Arne Slot’s lineup.
