Xavi drops huge Man Utd hint after talks over replacing under-fire Erik ten Hag

Xavi Hernández has stirred a reaction among Manchester United fans with a photo shared by his wife. In this intriguing image, the former Barcelona coach is seen with his young son, who is notably wearing the latest Manchester United kit. This seemingly innocuous photo has led fans to speculate that it might be a subtle indication of Xavi potentially taking over at Old Trafford.
At 44, Xavi is currently without a managerial position after departing Barcelona at the end of last season. His availability has fueled speculation, especially as Manchester United struggles under Erik ten Hag at the start of the new season. The team’s poor performance has raised questions about Ten Hag’s future, and recent rumors suggest that the club’s management might have approached Xavi as a possible replacement.
In the Instagram story posted on Sunday, Xavi sits next to his son, who is busy filling out a sticker book while wearing Manchester United’s iconic red home kit. This image has sparked excitement on social media, with fans believing Xavi may be hinting at an interest in joining the club.
Concerns about Ten Hag’s future are not new. Earlier this month, Manchester United executives, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, reportedly held a lengthy seven-hour meeting during the international break to discuss the club’s challenges. However, despite extensive discussions, no decisions were made regarding the managerial position. Unfortunately for Ten Hag, this meeting has only increased the pressure on him following the team’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday, which has amplified calls for change.
One prominent voice calling for action is former Tottenham midfielder and Sky Sports pundit Jamie O’Hara. After the recent loss, O’Hara expressed his frustration with United’s current situation. “Enough is enough,” he stated, arguing that if he were in charge, he would have dismissed Ten Hag long ago. O’Hara was incredulous about United’s league position, noting, “Nine games in, and they’re 14th… this is Manchester United. You might accept it if they were ninth, maybe, but four losses in nine games is unacceptable.”
When pressed about Ten Hag’s future, O’Hara insisted that a change should have been made after the FA Cup final last season. “I would have thanked him and sent him off on a high note after the FA Cup,” he added. Reflecting on United’s performance in both domestic and European competitions, O’Hara criticized their efforts as “poor” and expressed doubt that the team could improve under the current management.
For Manchester United, the future is uncertain. Xavi’s potential involvement, symbolized by his son’s choice of kit, has sparked hope and debate among fans. Whether he genuinely intends to step into the role or if the photo was merely coincidental, it’s clear that the club is in crisis, and changes are needed soon to restore its former glory.
