Manchester United fans expressed strong criticism toward one player after the team’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to West Ham United at the London Stadium.

United entered the match looking to build on their recent 2-1 victory over Brentford. However, they failed to take advantage of several first-half chances, with Diogo Dalot’s significant miss reflecting Erik ten Hag’s squad’s difficulties in London.

The situation took a turn for the worse when substitute Crysencio Summerville scored in the 74th minute, capitalizing on a mistake by Alejandro Garnacho.

Ten Hag’s team managed to equalize briefly with Casemiro’s header in the 81st minute, but West Ham sealed the win with a penalty by Jarrod Bowen in the 92nd minute after Matthijs de Ligt fouled Danny Ings.

Fans took to social media to voice their frustration over Garnacho’s lackluster performance. According to Sofascore, the Argentine missed the target three times and lost possession 16 times during the match.

One fan commented, “Ten Hag is treating Rashford like a bench player and Garnacho like a star. The manager has lost his mind.” Another stated, “Garnacho’s finishing is terrible—he’s our worst finisher.”

A third fan remarked, “Garnacho always shoots as if he’s aiming for the roof of the net.” Many felt his continued inclusion in the lineup was undeserved, with one supporter saying, “He doesn’t bring anything but effort. No quality, yet he’s always on the pitch.”

This defeat leaves Manchester United in 14th place in the Premier League, just seven points above the relegation zone, marking a troubling stretch with only one win in their last eight matches across all competitions.

Next up for United is a home game against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on October 30, followed by a Premier League clash with Chelsea on November 3.
