Mason Greenwood, recently transferred from Manchester United to Marseille, is keen to continue his England career, as reported by *The Sun*.

The forward aims to discuss his international prospects with new England manager Thomas Tuchel, still aspiring to play for the national team despite past controversies during his time at Manchester United. He intends to understand the positions of both the FA and Tuchel before making any decisions.

Tuchel, who took over after Gareth Southgate’s exit following Euro 2024, will officially begin his role in early 2025 for an 18-month period.

Greenwood, who earned his only England cap in 2020, hopes to add to that tally. After facing serious legal issues in 2022, he kickstarted his career with a loan to Getafe and then moved to Marseille. Since then, he has netted five goals in seven Ligue 1 matches, demonstrating his talent despite a long absence from the pitch.

A source reportedly informed *The Sun*: “Mason understands his chances with England are limited, but he wants to consult with the FA and Tuchel to clarify his position. He’s eager to play at the highest level, ideally looking towards the World Cup. If England isn’t a possibility, he’ll think about representing Jamaica in 2026.”

Nevertheless, a comeback to the England squad seems unlikely. Southgate and interim manager Lee Carsley showed little interest in reintegrating Greenwood, and Tuchel and the FA are expected to maintain this stance, given the potential backlash his return could provoke.

Additionally, England’s strong attacking lineup complicates Greenwood’s chances, with players like Bukayo Saka, Anthony Gordon, Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, and Jarrod Bowen performing well since his last appearance. Realistically, playing for Jamaica might be Greenwood’s best opportunity to participate in the World Cup.
