Man Utd striker Rasmus Hojlund called out for how he ‘injured’ Premier League star in training

Rasmus Hojlund has faced criticism for allegedly ‘injuring’ his teammate before Euro 2024 this summer.
Denmark was placed in Group C alongside England, Slovenia, and Serbia.
The Danish team progressed to the next stage of the tournament with three points, having drawn all their group matches. Hojlund, a forward for Manchester United, was part of the squad in Germany, but Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen was unable to participate due to injury.
According to Hermansen, Hojlund collided with him during a training session, resulting in a chipped tooth that he had previously injured as a child.
The impact caused the plastic covering his tooth to break off, which prevented him from playing for his country in Euro 2024.
On the Fozcast podcast, Hermansen recounted, “As a goalkeeper, during set-piece drills, you have to decide whether to go full out or take it easy. We were training with the national team before the Euros, and it was optional. We decided to practice corners, and I called out, ‘Keepers!’ But he charged in with everything, elbow straight to my tooth. I had a similar injury when I was younger, so it affected the same spot.”
Ben Foster criticized Hojlund’s approach during the training session, expressing disappointment over his lack of caution before a major tournament.
“Thanks, Rasmus, really appreciate that,” Foster remarked sarcastically. “That’s unacceptable. In practice, especially during set pieces, you need to hold back. You can’t go all out like that.”
Despite losing his tooth, Hermansen defended Hojlund, saying, “That’s just who he is, and I admire that about him. He gives it his all, always. He has an exceptional professionalism.”
While the incident may have cost Hermansen a tooth, it appears there are no hard feelings between the Leicester goalkeeper and the Manchester United forward.
