“He told me he wants to return to Arsenal because he still feels he can do better than Jesus”- Arsenal Sporting Director Edu Gasper reveals forgotten Ex Arsenal striker wants a return back to Arsenal by January transfer as he wants to rewrite history with the club

Edu Gasper, Arsenal’s Sporting Director, recently revealed that a former striker wishes to rejoin the club by the January transfer window, believing he can surpass Gabriel Jesus’s contributions.

Mika Biereth, currently with Sturm Graz after leaving Arsenal last summer, has expressed his desire to return to the Premier League club. The 20-year-old Dane, who had difficulty making an impact at Arsenal, aims to play for the Gunners again in the future.

Biereth joined Arsenal from Fulham in 2021 but struggled to secure a place in Mikel Arteta’s first team, leading to loan spells at RKC Waalwijk, Motherwell, and Sturm Graz, where he impressed enough to earn a permanent move.

In an interview with TV2, Biereth shared that he is content at Sturm Graz, saying, “Things are going well at Sturm Graz. I have nothing to complain about right now. I play every week at a good level, and now we’re also competing in the Champions League, where I’m still waiting for my first goal.”

While he is currently focused on his performance at Sturm Graz, Biereth expressed hope for a return to Arsenal: “If I keep playing well and scoring goals, hopefully a change can come, but right now I’m focused on Sturm and on doing well here. A return to Arsenal would be fantastic, but it’s not something I’m focusing on at the moment.”

Although Biereth dreams of rejoining Arsenal, it is uncertain if the club is interested in bringing him back. Arteta has expressed satisfaction with his current attacking options, including Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Leandro Trossard, which influenced his decision not to pursue a new striker during the last transfer window.

Nevertheless, Arsenal has been linked to notable forwards like Alexander Isak from Newcastle, and there have been speculations about Jesus’s future due to fitness concerns and his inconsistent starting position.

While Arsenal is not actively looking for a striker now, a potential future need for attacking reinforcements could allow Biereth to return to North London. If he maintains his strong performances at Sturm Graz, he may eventually have the chance to leave his mark at the Emirates Stadium.
