Paul Pogba Reveals United’s Lost Gem: Ravel Morrison Compared to Neymar

Former Manchester United player Paul Pogba has pointed out a promising young talent from the club’s academy, asserting he possessed skills comparable to Neymar. Pogba, who had a tumultuous second tenure at United, during which he won the Europa League and League Cup in 2017, reminisced about the exceptional abilities of his former teammate, Ravel Morrison.

As a pivotal member of United’s 2011 FA Youth Cup-winning squad, Pogba regarded Morrison as the most gifted player of his generation, even more so than Neymar during his early days at Santos. “Ravel was doing things like Neymar, without a doubt,” Pogba mentioned in an interview with The Mail.

Although Morrison had immense potential, his career never achieved the anticipated heights. Pogba maintains a close relationship with Morrison, recognizing his talents while also emphasizing the accountability players hold for their paths. “He knows if he had another chance, he would approach things differently,” Pogba reflected.

While Pogba enjoyed success in Serie A and with the French national team, Morrison’s career has been marked by unrealized potential. After playing in various countries, he recently joined UAE club Precision FC. His journey serves as a poignant example of “what might have been.”

Sir Alex Ferguson once predicted a bright future for Morrison, even claiming he was more talented than Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs at the same age. However, Morrison’s narrative highlights how even the most talented players can face challenges in reaching their true potential.
