**”I want to return to the Emirates”** – Another Arsenal player who departed from the club due to a minor disagreement with Arteta is now urging the board to grant him a second chance to rejoin by January to help Arsenal in their pursuit of the Premier League title.

Fabio Vieira is currently away from Arsenal, having returned to his home country to join Porto on loan for the season.

Given Arsenal’s history of loaning players, it might seem that Vieira is not part of their long-term plans. He struggled to secure regular playing time before his loan, leading to the assumption that this trend would continue with a year away from the team.

However, that’s not the case. Fabio Vieira remains a contender for a spot in Arsenal’s long-term plans.

Arsenal fans will likely find Fabrizio Romano’s recent insights regarding Vieira’s situation noteworthy. According to Romano, the assumptions about Vieira’s future at Arsenal are inaccurate. The club is still uncertain about his long-term prospects and will evaluate his situation at the end of his loan period.

Romano explained that Arsenal preferred a straightforward loan without any purchase options for Porto, keeping control over Vieira’s future. This arrangement allows them to decide whether to retain him after his loan.

In his words from the Here We Go podcast, Romano stated: “After [Vieira] joined Porto on loan from Arsenal, many people started saying ‘okay, it’s over for Fabio Vieira at Arsenal.’ What I’m told is that this is not the case. Arsenal only wanted to do a straight loan with no buy option included because they want to reassess Vieira’s situation in a year.”

Evaluating Fabio Vieira is challenging. Arsenal fans must consider his potential, which remains largely untapped at this stage.

Vieira has had standout moments in an Arsenal jersey, including crucial assists for Gabriel Martinelli against Aston Villa and Gabriel Jesus against Manchester United.

However, he also has weaknesses, such as his lack of physical strength, which makes him susceptible to being easily outmuscled. His work rate has also drawn comparisons to Mesut Ozil and faced criticism.

That said, a successful loan spell in Portugal could greatly benefit Vieira. Let’s hope for the best.
