Man Utd ‘target surprise name’ loved by Jadon Sancho to replace Erik ten Hag

Manchester United is reportedly considering Edin Terzic, the former manager of Borussia Dortmund, as an unexpected candidate to succeed Erik ten Hag amid ongoing uncertainty about the Dutchman’s future. This new interest in Terzic arises as INEOS seeks alternatives to the usual candidates for the managerial position.

While United is currently backing Ten Hag, following an important six-hour executive meeting in London, the demand for immediate results is increasing. A continued series of poor performances could jeopardize Ten Hag’s role.

Notable figures such as Thomas Tuchel, Gareth Southgate, and Ruud van Nistelrooy have been closely associated with the managerial job at Old Trafford. However, reports suggest that Terzic has now made it onto United’s shortlist due to his impressive record during two tenures at Dortmund.

Interestingly, the 41-year-old departed Dortmund after guiding the team to the Champions League final last summer, despite a narrow loss to Real Madrid at Wembley. His reputation has grown significantly after a successful season, particularly due to his role in revitalizing Jadon Sancho.

Sancho, who experienced a difficult spell under Ten Hag that led to a four-month absence from first-team training, regained his form during a brief loan at Dortmund. After Terzic’s exit, Sancho thanked him on Instagram, saying, “Thank you for trusting me! Forever grateful! I wish you the best of luck on your next chapter!”

With several admirers within Manchester United, Terzic is viewed as an innovative option if Ten Hag were to leave, signaling a potential change in the club’s managerial strategy.
